The Sooners have added the first defensive tackle of their 2024 recruiting class with the commitment of four-star brute Jayden Jackson.
Jackson announced his commitment on Thursday.
Jackson (6-2 300) is the second defensive lineman in OU’s 2024 class, joining three-star Minnesota edge rusher Wyatt Gilmore.
Ranked the No. 43 defensive lineman in the 2024 class, Jackson took June official visits to Oklahoma, Ohio State, Florida, Miami, and Texas. He also held offers from Michigan, Penn State, Texas A&M, and many others.
Jackson attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, but originally played his high school ball at Brownsburg High School in Brownsburg, Indiana.
As a prospect, Jayden Jackson is right up Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables’ alley. He gets into the backfield, often taking a blocker or two with him. He is impressively powerful, which is made more eye-catching because IMG plays some of the best competition in the nation. Jackson simply pushes people around like he’s the biggest kid on the playground.
