Georgia head coach Kirby Smart has named junior Carson Beck the Bulldogs starting quarterback for the 2023 season, according to multiple reports Saturday.
Beck hails from Jacksonville, Florida, and was a four-star recruit from the class of 2020.
A competitor in 12 games across his three-year Bulldogs career, Beck has completed 12 passes for 58 yards including a performance of 2-for-3 for 31 yards against TCU in the College Football Playoff National Championship game. He stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 240 pounds.
Beck will guide a Georgia offense that landed five selections to the preseason all-SEC team. He follows Heisman Trophy finalist Stetson Bennett as Bulldogs starting quarterbacks.
