With one post on X on Tuesday, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders named several positions of need that he hopes the transfer portal can solve.
After a 4-8 season during his first year at the helm of the program, including a 3-0 start to the season, Sanders listed four positions he’d like Santa Claus, or the transfer portal, to leave him ahead of next season.
“Dang, i 👀 the portal doing the bank-head bounce,” Sanders stated. “Just when I thought Santa was on his way back to the North Pole he dipped off. Santa please drop another DT, CB ,LB & 1 more Pass Rusher to Boulder. I BELIEVE Santa I BELIEVE !”
Sanders listed defensive tackle, cornerback, linebacker and a defensive end or edge rusher among the positions he’d like to improve going into the 2024 season.
The Buffaloes finished tied for sixth in the Pac-12 Conference with 27 sacks this season. They also finished sixth with 10 interceptions, near the middle of the pack.
Colorado’s leading tackler this season was defensive back Shilo Sanders, and linebacker LaVonta Bentley was close behind.
The belief was strong in Boulder this year. The Buffaloes improved on an 1-11 season in 2022 during the first year of Sanders’ tutelage.
Now, Sanders and Colorado hope to continue their growth and impact in the Pac-12 going into Year 2.
