Missouri is set to hire South Alabama defensive coordinator Corey Batoon for the same role, according to multiple reports.
According to Pete Thamel of ESPN, Batoon will join Eli Drinkwitz and the Tigers program.
Batoon spent the past three seasons as defensive coordinator at South Alabama. He was a Broyles Award nominee for top assistant coach in 2021.
Batoon brings over 30 years of coaching experience. Both he and Drinkwitz worked together at Arkansas State.
Batoon served as assistant athletic director, defensive assistant, safeties and special teams coordinator at Ole Miss from 2012-16, according to Joey Van Zummeren of Sports Illustrated.
Batoon then became as assistant coach at Florida Atlantic in 2017. Prior to South Alabama, he also coached at Hawaii and Liberty.
