INDIANAPOLIS — For many players, they must be able to not only reach for individual accolades, but also work hard to help their team achieve what it sets out to do at the beginning of the season.
For Texas linebacker Jaylan Ford, there couldn’t be much more to him than the Longhorns. The senior from Frisco, Texas, who was named a Third Team All-American in 2022 said his four years in Austin helped him learn how to put his team before himself.
Ford finished seventh in the Big 12 Conference with 101 tackles last season including 10.5 for loss. Now with the 2024 NFL Draft quickly approaching in April, Ford wants to join a franchise that can help him help the team become the best it can be.
“For me, the team is everything,” Ford told the media on Wednesday afternoon. “I come from a culture, a school where the team was the main priority and a lot of us had to sacrifice the things we wanted to put the team goals ahead and we were able to accomplish big things doing that.”
