Alabama has named its starting quarterback for the 2025 season opener against Florida State as Kalen DeBoer has tabbed junior Ty Simpson to lead the Crimson Tide offense. Simpson won a three-way competition during fall camp, beating out sophomore Austin Mack and highly touted freshman Keelon Russell.
Simpson has completed 29 passes in his first three years at Alabama, generating 381 yards with 0 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. He has added three rushing touchdowns on 130-yards on the ground.
