The more things change, the more they stay the same. Despite losing to Michigan the past two seasons, the Ohio State Buckeyes are once again the favorites to win the Big Ten East.
BetOnline has released its divisional odds all across the FBS, and they have installed the Buckeyes as a slight favorite over the Wolverines. Ohio State is the 11/10 favorite to win the East, which means a $10 bet would win you $11. Michigan’s odds are a smidge longer at 6/5, meaning a $10 bet would win $11.
Michigan has won the Big Ten East the past two seasons. A Big Ten Championship this year would give them three outright conference titles in a row, which is something that only Ohio State has done (2017-2020) in B1G history.
Wisconsin (5/4) is the heavy favorite to meet the Buckeyes in the Big Ten Championship Game this December.
Rutgers did not warrant any odds
The heaviest favorite in this release, however, shouldn’t be a surprise to anybody who follows college football. Georgia is a 2/15 favorite to win the SEC East. Meaning, you would need to bet $15 just to win two bucks back. But given how the SEC East has faired lately, free money is still free money.
Alabama is even odds to face the Bulldogs in the SEC title game. Last year’s SEC West champs LSU are listed at 7/4 to repeat.
