Georgia climbs to No. 1 in third CFP rankings

The third College Football Playoff rankings of the season were released on Tuesday night, and there is a new No. 1 team.

The Bulldogs are back atop the CFP rankings after claiming a top-10 win over Ole Miss, and they did so in strong fashion. Georgia won 52-17 and held the Rebels to three points in the second half.

Missouri rose five spots to No. 9 on the heels of a dominant 36-7 win over No. 18 Tennessee. It is the highest CFP ranking in program history.

Louisville also climbed a spot to No. 10. The Cardinals are on a three-game winning streak, and they’re playing for a spot in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game.

While other programs rose, Penn State, which lost 24-15 to Michigan after giving up over 200 yards rushing, fell to No. 12.
