Auburn has reportedly hired D.J. Durkin as its next defensive coordinator.
According to Chris Low of ESPN, Durkin will be hired onto Hugh Freeze’s coaching staff with the Tigers for the 2024 season.

Durkin spent the past two years as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Texas A&M. While there the Aggies went 12-13 and allowed 21.7 points per game.
Prior to coaching at Texas A&M Durkin worked at Ole Miss. He was the co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach with the Rebels.

Durkin has head coaching experience at Maryland during the 2016-17 seasons. He’s had stops at Notre Dame as a graduate assistant, Stanford, Florida and Michigan throughout his coaching career.
Durkin was also a consultant for the Atlanta Falcons in 2019.
