The Nittany Lions led by as many as 24-14 entering the fourth quarter. Hoosiers quarterback Brendan Sorsby threw a 26-yard touchdown to receiver Omar Cooper Jr. to make it 24-21 with more than 10 minutes to go.

Indiana defensive back Josh Sanguinetti intercepted Allar at the Penn State 28-yard line with 5:02 left, and the Hoosiers suddenly had possession in plus territory in a three-point game. 

Hoosiers kicker Chris Freeman tied it up at 24 points with a 35-yard field goal. 

Penn State only needed three offensive plays on the ensuing drive to reclaim the lead. 

Allar uncorked a 57-yard heave to Lambert-Smith and gave Penn State the lead for good. 

The Nittany Lions added a safety thereafter, and Penn State sealed up its win by a first down conversion by running back Nicholas Singleton.

Indiana outgained Penn State 349 yards to 342. Allar finished with 210 passing yards, three touchdowns and an interception. 

Sorsby totaled 269 passing yards, three touchdowns and an interception of his own. Hoosiers receiver Dequece Carter had a game-high 104 receiving yards on three catches.
