Ohio State set the pace in Indianapolis, but several Big Ten programs saw their top prospects strengthen their draft profiles with strong testing and polished on‑field work.

Ohio State LB Sonny Styles

Styles delivered one of the most explosive linebacker workouts in recent combine memory. His combination of size, speed, and leaping ability placed him among the elite athletes in this year’s class and solidified his status as a likely top‑10 pick.

Ohio State EDGE/LB Arvell Reese

Reese matched his reputation as a rare hybrid defender. His speed and fluidity in drills backed up his tape and positioned him as one of the most versatile defensive prospects in the draft.

Penn State QB Drew Allar

Allar’s throwing session was one of the cleanest among quarterbacks. He showed consistent mechanics, strong velocity, and the kind of command that reassured evaluators about his long‑term upside.

Penn State EDGE Dani Dennis‑Sutton

Dennis‑Sutton continued his upward trajectory with a strong athletic showing. His explosiveness and movement skills helped confirm his rise into the early‑round conversation.

Indiana CB D’Angelo Ponds

Ponds impressed with smooth transitions and competitive energy throughout drills. His performance helped offset concerns about size and kept him firmly in the Day 2 mix.

Ohio State WR Carnell Tate

Tate delivered a steady, professional workout. His times aligned with expectations, and his decision to participate in full testing earned positive marks in a crowded receiver class.

Ohio State RB CJ Donaldson

Donaldson didn’t complete every test, but his size and movement profile remain intriguing. Teams will look to his pro day for a fuller athletic picture.

Indiana RB Roman Hemby

Hemby posted solid explosiveness numbers and moved well in positional work, giving teams a clearer sense of his athletic range.

Nebraska RB Emmett Johnson

Johnson turned in a balanced workout highlighted by solid jumps and agility numbers. His testing helped establish him as a dependable rotational back with developmental upside.

Draft Implications

Ohio State’s top defenders were among the biggest winners of the week, with both Styles and Reese performing like early first‑round selections. Penn State’s headliners reinforced their high ceilings, while running backs from Indiana and Nebraska provided useful clarity in a deep class. In a year with significant depth at wide receiver and defensive back, steady performances like Carnell Tate’s and D’Angelo Ponds’ helped maintain momentum heading into pro‑day season.

A handful of Big Ten standouts arrive in Indianapolis with real draft‑stock volatility—and a chance to change their 2026 outlook in a single week. The NFL Combine offers players a chance to validate what their game film showed scouts and coaches, while also providing glimpses of potential at the professional level.

Ohio State’s Arvell Reese headlines the group. His rare LB/EDGE versatility makes him top‑five pick, but teams want clarity on his true role. Penn State’s duo—Nicholas Singleton and Drew Allar—also has momentum to gain. Singleton’s speed should shine, while Allar needs rhythm and accuracy to reassert credentials as a developmental quarterback.

Ohio State tight ends Will Kacmarek and Max Klare must separate themselves in a deep class, and RB CJ Donaldson can rise with better‑than‑expected burst.

Indiana’s receivers Elijah Sarratt and Omar Cooper Jr. face a loaded WR field where every tenth of a second matters, while RBs Roman Hemby (Indiana) and Emmett Johnson (Nebraska) look to prove they athletic ceilings that will be enticing to NFL teams.

The Big Ten closed its regular season with a slate of rivalry games that carried both tradition and postseason weight. From the Big House to Bloomington, the weekend delivered decisive victories, emotional farewells, and clarity for the College Football Playoff picture.

Ohio State Stands Tall in Ann Arbor
The marquee matchup lived up to its billing, though only one side left satisfied. Ohio State controlled Michigan from start to finish, earning a 27–9 victory that cemented the Buckeyes’ place atop the conference and strengthened their case as the nation’s No. 1 team. Quarterback Julian Sayin threw for 233 yards, while running back Bo Jackson added 117 on the ground. Michigan’s offense sputtered, leaving the Wolverines to regroup ahead of bowl season. Ohio State heads to Indianapolis undefeated at 12-0, while Michigan finished 9-3 for the regular season and await their bowl game destination.

Trophy Games Deliver Tradition
Indiana kept the Old Oaken Bucket with a resounding 56–3 win over Purdue, powered by Fernando Mendoza’s 2 touchdowns passing and Roman Hemby’s 152 rushing yards. In Minneapolis, Minnesota claimed Paul Bunyan’s Axe by defeating Wisconsin 17–7, with Darius Taylor rushing for 100 yards and 1 touchdown to secure bragging rights. Illinois edged Northwestern 20–13 in the battle for the Land of Lincoln Trophy, thanks to Hayden Eligon II’s 99 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.

The West Coast Teams Battled Intensely

Oregon traveled to Washington and defeated the Huskies, 26-14. Oregon wide receiver Malik Benson had a dynamic 64 yard touchdown reception that put the Ducks in the lead for good. USC hosted in-city rival UCLA and defeated the Bruins, 29-10. USC running back King Miller carried the ball 17 times for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns, as the Trojans broke the game open in the second half versus UCLA.

Penn State Survives Rutgers Shootout
In one of the weekend’s most entertaining contests, Penn State outlasted Rutgers 40–36. Quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis threw for 338 yards and 3 touchdowns for the Scarlet Knights, while Kaytron Allen rushed for 226 and 1 touchdown, showcasing the Nittany Lions’ offensive balance. The win kept Penn State in the conversation for a bowl game, as the Nittany Lions finished 6-6.

Hawkeyes and Spartans Close Strong
Iowa rolled past Nebraska 40–16, highlighted by Emmett Johnson’s 217 rushing yards. Michigan State ended its season on a high note, defeating Maryland 38–28 and surviving Malik Washington’s staggering 459 passing yards and 3 touchdowns.

Looking Ahead
The weekend underscored the Big Ten’s blend of tradition and high stakes. Ohio State and Indiana will meet for The Big Ten Championship in Indianapolis the evening of December 6th (televised by Fox; 8pm ET kickoff). Oregon projects as a College Football Playoff participant, likely to host an initial playoff game the weekend of December 19th-December 20th. Michigan and USC (9-3), Iowa, Illinois, and Washington (8-4), Minnesota and Nebraska (7-5), and Northwestern and Penn State (6-6) all will find out their respective bowl game destinations the afternoon of December 7th.

As for UCLA (6-6), Rutgers (5-7), Maryland, Michigan State, and Wisconsin (4-8), and Purdue (2-9), a long offseason of recruiting and retooling awaits. Keep your eyes and ears open for any possible coaching changes that may be taking place at any of these respective institutions.
