They will star on the covers of the Standard and Deluxe editions.

“Donovan, Quinn and Travis are extraordinary talents who impressed and entertained millions of college football fans on the field last season and are poised to do so again this year,” Holt stated in a release. “We’re proud to be able to incorporate thousands of current athletes in College Football 25, and featuring this trio of playmakers and their iconic college programs on the cover is a perfect fit as we usher in a new era for EA SPORTS and college football.
ESPN broadcasters such as Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit will “call marquee matchups,” along with other broadcast teams such as Rece Davis, Jesse Palmer and David Pollack will comprise the virtual booth and “take the mic for all other games.”

Among the gameplay features include Homefield Advantage, which will allow players to “through distractions like screen shaking, missing pre-play icons, and moving play art.” Additional features consist of Pre-Snap Recognition and the Wear & Tear System, which means virtual player stamina is affected by more play so it will be important to “manage your players’ health, limit fatigue, assess risk of injury, and avoid on-field mistakes by using strategic substitutions to ensure your players are at their best when it counts the most.”

The traditions within college football that make it one of a kind will be immersed in College Football 25. Along with team mascots and fight songs, the video game will include “unique team run-outs, rivalry rituals, synchronized crowd-chants, loudness meters as well as real game-day audio.”

Dynasty and Road To Glory modes are also offered in the video game alongside Road to the College Football Playoff, where players will “experience a new way to play competitively across consoles” and “earn rank by upsetting the toughest opponents and securing the votes you need to progress and level up divisions,” as well as College Football Ultimate Team.

College Football Ultimate Team will allow players to “build your dream team of college football stars and legends” in Solo Challenges or H2H seasons, and they can test their skill across consoles “in more competitive formats like College Football Ultimate Team Champs and Champs Gauntlet.”

EA Sports is also offering an MVP bundle on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S that will include deluxe editions of College Football 25 and Madden NFL 25 “with 3-day early access and unlocks a multitude of benefits across both titles.”

There were seven players in either their fifth or sixth season of college football to be selected to the AP All-America First Team. Eleven more made the second and third teams.

Alabama had the most AP First Team All-Americans, and they each came on the defensive side of the ball.

The Southeastern Conference also led with nine First Team selections, and the Big Ten followed with six. The Pac-12 had four First Team All-Americans, the Big 12 had three, there were two independents and the remaining conferences had one selection or less.

Colorado will be without its two-way star the next three weeks, according to multiple reports.

According to Carl Reed Jr. of 247 Sports, Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders said sophomore cornerback and wide receiver Travis Hunter “will be out for 3 weeks.”

Hunter exited Saturday’s game due to injury after taking a late hit midway through the first quarter. Officials threw flags for pass interference and unsportsmanlike conduct against Colorado State on the hit and play of which Hunter was hit.

READ: Oklahoma’s Gabriel ‘learning how to win in different ways’ behind 5 TD performance against Tulsa

Hunter later left the game in the third quarter and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

Hunter’s absence will be a big blow over the next three weeks. No. 19 Colorado will travel to No. 10 Oregon this week for another big road challenge before hosting No. 5 USC on Sept. 30, and then the Buffaloes’ third game in Hunter’s absence will be on the road at Arizona State.

Through three games this season, Hunter is Colorado’s third-leading receiver with 213 yards and eighth-leading tackler.

After two full weeks of college football, who so far are the standouts?

What are the biggest storylines in college football? The answer, it seems, remains with the quarterbacks.

No. 1 Georgia, No. 6 Ohio State and No. 10 Alabama each have new starting quarterbacks this season, and the trio have gone so far this season without a hitch. Carson Beck, Kyle McCord and Jalen Milroe have combined to throw for 1,523 yards and 11 touchdowns.

However, it hasn’t been a smooth start to the year for several preseason Associated Press Top 25 teams. The Crimson Tide, ranked No. 3 at the time of the game, fell to then-No. 11 Texas in Week 2 while then-No. 5 LSU lost to then-No. 8 Florida State.

Here are several players and notes to keep a tab on in this week’s Big Board.

Colorado strengthens its belief

How many people are believers in Colorado?

Deion Sanders’ quest to transform the Buffaloes program is off to a roaring start. He’s gotten ahead to a 2-0 start, already better than Colorado’s 1-11 record from last season.

Last week, the Buffaloes emerged victorious rather handily against Nebraska by a score of 36-14. Sanders’ son Shedeur Sanders threw for 393 yards and two touchdowns, following up on his record-breaking performance in the season-opener during which he threw for 510 yards against then-No. 17 TCU.

Colorado’s defense stood out last week against Nebraska. The Buffaloes allowd 341 yards, less than the 545 given up to the Horned Frogs.

While the offense struggled to get going despite a 13-0 halftime lead, the defense shut out Nebraska and helped kept Colorado under control.

Cornerback and wide receiver Travis Hunter continued his two-way play and made four tackles alongside another pass break-up.

FOX Big Noon and ESPN College GameDay, which will be in attendance for the first time since 1996, will be in Boulder this Saturday when the Buffaloes host Colorado State. After two strong weeks of play, the Sanders’ and Colorado are doing something special this season.

Quinn Ewers, Texas

Quinn Ewers may be hitting his stride.

After an offseason in which he focused himself on conditioning his body and readying himself physically, Ewers stood the test of Alabama early into his third season of college football.

Ewers was named the Maxwell Player of the Week and the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback of the Week after Texas toppled the Crimson Tide. He threw for 349 yards, the second-most of his career, and three touchdowns, guiding the Longhorns to a top-10 upset victory on the road.

Texas is back to the AP top-5 for the first time since 2010, and it is doing so with Ewers under center. He’s long been heralded as a generational quarterback prospect, becoming a consensus five-star recruit and achieving a perfect 100 score according to the 247 Composite.

Since his arrival at Texas, Ewers’ career has taken the next step. He’s earned the Longhorns’ starting quarterback job the past two seasons and figures to continue his impressive start to 2023.

He passed one of his first major tests this season in Texas’ win over Alabama. Now, Ewers must sustain his success.

Pac-12 Conference is off to an historic start

For the first time in conference history, the Pac-12 has eight teams ranked inside the AP Top 25.

A big reason for the Pac-12’s ranking success is the start the conference had to the season. Every team in the conference won its season opener, marking the first time since 1932 that it had done so according to ESPN Stats & Info.

USC and Washington rank inside the top 10 at Nos. 6 and 8 respectively. Quarterbacks Caleb Williams and Michael Penix Jr. are making early cases for the Heisman Trophy among other playmakers for the two respective teams, which meet in Week 9.

The Pac-12 began 17-0 also, marking a dominant start to the season for the conference.

This season marks a historic final season of the full Pac-12. Beginning in 2024, 10 teams will depart for the Big 12, Big Ten and Atlantic Coast Conference as part of the latest round of conference realignment. The start to this season is, in fact, eye-popping.

Michael Penix Jr., Washington

Penix returns to the Big Board this week after another big performance for the Huskies.

Penix has had back-to-back 400-plus yard performances to start the season. He threw for 409 yards last week against Tulsa and added three touchdowns to boot.

Penix’s Washington career has taken a positive rise since his transfer from Indiana prior to last season. He’s commanded a Huskies offense that has taken on his ability to perform.

He went 28-for-38 with one interception against the Golden Hurricane. Penix tossed a touchdown in each of the first three quarters as Washington pulled away 43-10.

Penix is fourth in the country in passing yards and eighth with a 196.9 passing efficiency rating.

His Heisman odds are currently +850 according to Caesars Sportsbook. With upcoming challenges against teams like Oregon, USC, Utah and Oregon State, Penix can continue his solid start to the 2023 campaign and boost his Heisman potential at the same time.

Deion Sanders delivered a constant message after Colorado beat No. 17 TCU during the season-opener 45-42 on Saturday.

“Do you believe now?” Sanders said. “Hold on, hold on. Oh no, oh no. Do you believe now?”

The Buffaloes matched their win total from a season ago under the new head coach, and Sanders prevailed over a team that advanced to the College Football Playoff National Championship a season ago.

There are 87 newcomers to the Colorado program and nine returning scholarship players, and the new-look Buffaloes claimed victory in Sanders’ debut at the helm.

“Ain’t none of y’all believe that,” Sanders said. “Maybe a couple of y’all that knew me and know how I get down. They know I’m a winner. We’re going to end up winning.”

Sanders’ son Shedeur Sanders led the offense behind a record-breaking performance. He threw for a school-record 510 yards and four touchdowns, completing passes at a 38-for-47 clip.

Shedeur Sanders had 345 yards come through the air in the second half. He provided a boost with three second-half touchdown passes including the game winner through a 46-yarder with more than four minutes left to play.

“It’s crazy that we put up the numbers and we wasn’t even at our best,” Shedeur Sanders said. “I missed two deep balls early, silly penalties, but this was our first time really growing with each other, trusting each other, understanding each other in a game-like, in a real environment.”

Travis Hunter stood out on both sides of the ball. The sophomore from Suwanee, Georgia, was a former No. 1 overall recruit in the class of 2022.

Hunter played both cornerback and wide receiver, and made plays on both sides that showed he’s more than capable wherever he is. Hunter caught 119 yards on 11 catches and also made three tackles along with a pass-break up.

“A lot of people doubted me because I rated myself as No. 1 Heisman watch list, but now people praising me now because they know what I can do,” Hunter said. “They finally see what I see in my vision or what the coaches’ vision is for me.”

Hunter said “it’s all on your body” playing more than 110 snaps in a game “but that’s what you got treatment for.”

“It’s fun,” Hunter said. “ liked going out there. I didn’t get a touchdown today but I got an interception, so that’s just going to help my stats. It’s going to help the team. Whatever I could do to help the team is what I want to do.”

Hunter also had a crucial interception at the goal line when TCU quarterback Chandler Morris looked to his right in the third quarter.

“I’m like, ‘This receiver is in close. He’s got to be going under,’” Hunter said. “So if he goes under, I know nobody got the back and if they got the back, they’re not going to get over there fast enough. So I took two steps to my right and then when I looked at the quarterback, he was winding up to throw it so I just took off and broke on the ball and picked it off.”

Colorado’s improbable early success will give Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes a push of momentum as they continue their mission.

The Buffaloes will next play Nebraska at home on FOX Big Noon Saturday, which will feature Colorado for a second-straight week, and host Colorado State before ranked matchups against No. 15 Oregon and No. 6 USC take place on the road.

For now, Hunter, the Sanders’ and Colorado will keep on believing.

“Travis is him, like the young folks say. Travis is it,” Deion Sanders said. “I really think you know. I always promote all my kids. I really think we got a couple of guys that should be frontrunners for the Heisman right now. Really, that’s how I feel.”

Coach Prime is 1-0 at Colorado.

Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes entered Fort Worth, Texas, and engaged in a four-quarter battle with No. 17 TCU, which was coming off an offseason after which it appeared in the College Football Playoff National Championship.

Colorado edged the Horned Frogs 45-42 and earned victory after quarterback Shedeur Sanders, son of Deion Sanders, threw a 46-yard touchdown to Dylan Edwards on 4th and 2 with 4:25 left to play.

Both teams scored four touchdowns and totaled 345 yards in the second half as Colorado held an advantage of 565 yards of offense to TCU’s 541.

Shedeur Sanders threw for a program record 510 yards and added four touchdowns through the air. He completed passes at a 38-for-47 rate.

Perhaps none other than sophomore Travis Hunter stole the show on the field. He played both wide receiver and defensive back, and he snagged a key interception at the goal line with over nine minutes left to play in the third quarter.

Hunter caught 11 receptions for 119 yards and looked spectacular when the ball flew his direction. His hands and ball-catching ability showed why Hunter is a former No. 1 prospect in his class of 2022.

The 6-foot-1 standout athlete also had his hand involved defensively in addition to his interception. Hunter recorded three tackles including a pass-break up.

Four Colorado receivers logged 100-plus yard receiving outings. Edwards led the way with 135 receiving yards on five catches, Xavier Weaver had 118 yards and Jimmy Horn Jr. Had 117.

TCU quarterback Chandler Morris threw for 279 yards and two touchdowns while running back Emani Bailey tallied 164 rushing yards.

Deion Sanders’ debut at Colorado couldn’t have gone much better. The Buffaloes entered as underdogs by more than two touchdowns, and they generated enough offense to lead early and overcome three deficits in the second half and claim victory.
