Texas QB Quinn Ewers to return in 2024

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers is not opting for the NFL Draft just yet, as he announced his decision to return to the Longhorns for the 2024 season on Thursday.

Ewers, who reclassified and entered college football a year early in 2021, will enter his senior season next year.

Across three seasons of college football including stops at Ohio State and Texas, Ewers has amassed 5,656 passing yards and 37 touchdowns to 12 interceptions.

He’ll be viewed as one of the premier quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft. This year, Heisman Trophy-winning LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, USC’s Caleb Williams and North Carolina’s Drake Maye are all entrants in the NFL Draft.

Ewers was named All-Big 12 Conference Honorable Mention after leading the Longhorns to the College Football Playoff for the first time in program history.

Ewers finished second in the Big 12 with 3,479 passing yards and a 69% completion this season. He averaged 289.9 passing yards per game, which were second-most in the conference.
