Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy is breaking records at the NFL Combine, as he clocked a 4.21 time in the 40-yard dash to break the John Ross’ previous best.
Worthy gave the 40 a second try and topped the combine record at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 172 pounds, Worthy blazed his way into the record books. According to Daniel Jeremiah’s top 50 draft-eligible prospects, Worthy is No. 41 among top players expected to be taken in April’s NFL Draft.
Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins, who suffered a groin injury after running the 40, had set the combine’s best time before Worthy’s time with a 4.28 clip on Friday.

Worthy was a First Team All-Big 12 Conference and third team All-America honoree after the 2023 season. He caught 1,014 yards and five touchdowns.
Among Worthy’s other combine measurements and results include a 10-foot, 11-inch broad jump and 41-inch vertical jump. His 10-yard split time was 1.49 seconds.
