<p>A former four-star quarterback recruit announced his intention to transfer Thursday <a href="https://x.com/jadenrashada/status/1781110499075342762">on social media</a>.</p>



<p><a href="https://saturdayglory.com/team-posts/arizona-state-sun-devils/">Arizona State</a> redshirt freshman quarterback Jaden Rashada <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C57AQyQPbyX/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link">posted on Instagram</a> and X his <a href="https://saturdayglory.com/category/transfer-portal/">transfer portal</a> announcement following his first season of college football. Beginning last season as the Sun Devils starter, a knee injury persisted throughout the fall, and Rashada played in three games passing for 485 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions on 53.7% completion.</p>

<p>“To ASU, I want to first start off by thanking my teammates, we shared a bond that I’ll remember forever, love each and everyone of you guys, thankful for the time we spent together and wish you guys the best of luck,” Rashada stated. “I want to thank everybody in academics and the cafeteria that made my time there easier, want to thank coach Joe, coach CC, Alex, and the whole strength staff that has helped me progress in the weight room and on the field. Want to also thank all the coaches that have gotten me better and helped me not only as a player but a person as well, A special thank you to coach Dilly! One of a kind coach who is the same person every day and cares about the university and his players, Thanks for sharing your passion and knowledge of the game with me! With that being said I’ll be entering the transfer portal seeking the best fit for my career! Gods plan!”</p>

<p>Sun Devils head coach Kenny Dillingham <a href="https://x.com/KennyDillingham/status/1781111609211158843">posted on X</a> his support for Rashada amid his transfer.</p>



<p>“Always rooting for you!!!” Dillingham stated. “Go find your spot and go be great like I know you can!”</p>



<p>Rashada joined Arizona State as part of the class of 2023. He’s the son of former Sun Devils defensive back Harlen Rashada who played from 1992-94.</p>

<p>Jaden Rashada was a member of the 2022 Elite 11 Quarterback class and selected to the Under Armour All-American Game his senior year at Pittsburg High School in California.</p>



<p><a href="https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39971846/arizona-state-qb-jaden-rashada-enter-transfer-portal">According to Adam Rittenberg of ESPN</a>, Jaden Rashada “initially signed with Florida but was released from his national letter of intent after a $13 million name, image and likeness agreement fell through with Florida&#8217;s Gator Collective.”</p>



<p>Jaden Rashada also missed Arizona State’s spring practice “following offseason thumb surgery,” according to ESPN.</p>

<p>Hines Ward is reportedly taking an assistant coaching position at a soon-to-be Big 12 program.</p>



<p><a href="https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39933351/sources-arizona-st-adds-steerlers-great-hines-ward-wr-coach">According to Pete Thamel of ESPN</a>, the former Georgia Bulldog will join Kenny Dillingham and Arizona State’s coaching staff as wide receivers coach ahead of the 2024 season. Ward’s agreement with Arizona State “is expected to be finalized in the near future.”</p>

<p>Ward has previous college coaching experience at Florida Atlantic in 2021. In his coaching career, Ward had been an offensive intern with the Pittsburgh Steelers — with whom he played over 13 years in the NFL — before becoming an offensive assistant with the New York Jets in 2019.</p>



<p>Ward spent the 2023 season as the head coach of the San Antonio Brahmas, a team in the United Football League.</p>

<p>Ward played from 1994-97 at Georgia. He amassed 1,965 receiving yards and 1,066 rushing yards compiling 16 total touchdowns.</p>
