Set to launch worldwide on July 19, a full reveal of the modes and features of EA Sports College Football 25 was announced on Friday.

Dynasty and Road To Glory modes will be available in College Football 25, according to a release. Those two modes will allow players “to construct their own powerhouse program as a created coach or vie for the Heisman as a player” in what the video game introduces as CampusIQ, which will be “a suite of features that brings to life the true depth of college football through wide open, fast-paced gameplay across all 134 FBS schools in all areas of the game.”

Over 10,000 players have opted into College Football 25, it was announced in March. Any student-athlete who opts in and has their name, image and likeness used will receive $600 and a copy of the video game.

College Football 25 will also offer “the all-new Road to the College Football Playoff and College Football Ultimate Team” that will “bring fresh online experiences and ways to play.”

“EA SPORTS College Football is BACK! We’ve felt the passion and anticipation of college football fans every step of the way since we first announced this game, and we’re ecstatic to finally be able to show everyone what we’ve been building,” EA Sports SVP and Group GM Daryl Holt stated in a release. “College Football 25 is built with authenticity at its core, inspired by experiences our fans have loved from our games, and fully evolved to reflect modern college football – all of which will immerse them in the sights, sounds, and true-to-life gameplay of the sport they love.”

EA Sports unveiled the cover of College Football 25 on Thursday, showcasing Michigan running back Donovan Edwards, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers and Colorado defensive back/wide receiver Travis Hunter. They will star on the covers of the Standard and Deluxe editions.

“Donovan, Quinn and Travis are extraordinary talents who impressed and entertained millions of college football fans on the field last season and are poised to do so again this year,” Holt stated in a release. “We’re proud to be able to incorporate thousands of current athletes in College Football 25, and featuring this trio of playmakers and their iconic college programs on the cover is a perfect fit as we usher in a new era for EA SPORTS and college football. I can’t wait for the world to learn more about the game tomorrow.”

ESPN broadcasters such as Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit will “call marquee matchups,” along with other broadcast teams such as Rece Davis, Jesse Palmer and David Pollack will comprise the virtual booth and “take the mic for all other games.”

Among the gameplay features include Homefield Advantage, which will allow players to “through distractions like screen shaking, missing pre-play icons, and moving play art.” Additional features consist of Pre-Snap Recognition and the Wear & Tear System, which means virtual player stamina is affected by more play so it will be important to “manage your players’ health, limit fatigue, assess risk of injury, and avoid on-field mistakes by using strategic substitutions to ensure your players are at their best when it counts the most.”

The traditions within college football that make it one of a kind will be immersed in College Football 25. Along with team mascots and fight songs, the video game will include “unique team run-outs, rivalry rituals, synchronized crowd-chants, loudness meters as well as real game-day audio.”

Dynasty and Road To Glory modes are also offered in the video game alongside Road to the College Football Playoff, where players will “experience a new way to play competitively across consoles” and “earn rank by upsetting the toughest opponents and securing the votes you need to progress and level up divisions,” as well as College Football Ultimate Team.

College Football Ultimate Team will allow players to “build your dream team of college football stars and legends” in Solo Challenges or H2H seasons, and they can test their skill across consoles “in more competitive formats like College Football Ultimate Team Champs and Champs Gauntlet.”

EA Sports College Football 25 is available for pre-order now. According to Matt Brown of Extra Points, the video game will not be available for PC at launch. EA Sports is also offering an MVP bundle on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S that will include deluxe editions of College Football 25 and Madden NFL 25 “with 3-day early access and unlocks a multitude of benefits across both titles.”

ESPN broadcasters such as Rece Davis and Kirk Herbstreit will make up “the voices” of “College Football 25.”

If a player doesn’t opt into the “College Football 25” video game, then “a generic avatar based on the traditional strength or weakness of a position over the past decade for that school” will be created by EA Sports, according to ESPN.

The move brings the Minutemen back to the MAC for the first time since 2012-15 when UMass was a football-only affiliate.

According to Pete Thamel of ESPN, UMass hockey will remain in Hockey East and lacrosse will “apply to stay in (the Atlantic-10) as an affiliate member.”

The Minutemen had been an independent in football. Now, they’ll return to the MAC and compete as part of a conference that could yield a participant in the 12-team College Football Playoff.

Notre Dame and UConn remain as the lone two independent teams in college football. Army will become a member of the American Athletic Conference next season.

UMass went 3-9 last season under second-year head coach Don Brown.

College football players around the country shared on social media Thursday their participation in the upcoming EA Sports video game “College Football 25.”

EA Sports confirmed Thursday that all 134 Football Bowl Subdivision teams will be available to play in the new game.

More information about the game will be available in May, according to a release.

Players such as Michigan’s Will Johnson and Ohio State transfer Quinshon Judkins posted on X a graphic designed in their team’s colors promoting the video game.

ESPN broadcasters such as Rece Davis and Kirk Herbstreit shared posts confirming they’ll also appear as “one of the voices” of the game. Herbstreit posted “I’m so excited to FINALLY announce that I’m part of @EASPORTSCollege. I’m proud to be a partner and one of the voices of the game once again – my 14th year in that role.”

According to Michael Rothstein of ESPN, any player who opts in and has their name, image and likeness used in the game will receive at least $600 and a copy of “College Football 25.”

Additional opportunities such as advertisements, promotion, social media posts and other avenues will be available for players to have a chance to make more, according to ESPN.

No Football Championship Subdivision school will be available to play when the game launches, according to ESPN.

If a player doesn’t opt into the “College Football 25” video game, then “a generic avatar based on the traditional strength or weakness of a position over the past decade for that school” will be created by EA Sports, according to ESPN.

According to Ryan Kryska of The Associated Press, users who could create and add players of real-life college football players who did not opt into the “College Football 25” video game will be blocked from doing so.

No. 25 Air Force suffered its first loss of the season to an Army team that entered last Saturday’s game with a 2-6 record. The Falcons were beaten 23-3 and shut out in the second half. 

The remaining undefeated teams include: No. 1 Ohio State, No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Michigan, No. 4 Florida State, No. 5 Washington and Liberty. The Flames are ranked inside the Associated Press Top 25 poll for the first time this season, and it remains to be seen whether that’ll carry into Tuesday night’s College Football Playoff rankings. 

Here are some noteworthy quotes as focus turns from Week 10 to Week 11. 

Mike Gundy, Oklahoma State 

No. 22 Oklahoma State picked up its fifth win in a row during its 27-24 comeback effort against No. 9 Oklahoma. 

The Cowboys got out to a 17-7 lead before Sooners running back Tawee Walker ran in a go-ahead score midway through the third quarter. 

Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II punched in a 1-yard touchdown with 7:59 left to play, and it gave the Cowboys the lead that they held onto for good. 

Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy is known for his jests during press conferences, and after the final scheduled “Bedlam” game where Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” song played throughout the stadium, Gundy shared how he prepares for opponents. 

“I’ll notice it more next year when I don’t really watch and see what they’re doing because I don’t play them,” Gundy said. “Like this year, I was talking about TCU and then I realized we don’t even play TCU. So well, I need to quit watching them and I need to take notes on other teams that we’re going to play. So I just wanted to go home tonight. Like I’ll get a big chief notebook and a crayon and I’ll take notes on everybody we play while I’m sitting there drinking a Diet Coke, and I’ll do that until I get double vision then I’ll go to bed. But the point being is at some point when we’re not playing them and it’s not as important for me to watch them, it’ll probably set in more so than now.” 

Sam Pittman, Arkansas 

A duel between quarterbacks KJ Jefferson of Arkansas and Florida’s Graham Mertz was sent to overtime on Saturday.

Jefferson and the Razorbacks emerged victorious 39-36 after the quarterback found receiver Tyrone Broden four yards out for the game-winning touchdown. 

It marked the first time that Arkansas defeated Florida in Gainesville, and the Razorbacks did it under fourth-year head coach Sam Pittman who said the Razorbacks are “really excited about the win.” 

“Florida has got a really good football team,” Pittman said. “We knew coming in there that they would be very physical, and which they were, and Billy Napier’s a wonderful coach and a good friend of mine, and I’m really proud of our team because in two weeks’ time, a lot of stuff went on in the program and the kids just stayed with us and they stay believing. Coming down here, I don’t know how many times we’ve played them in Gainesville to be the first team to ever win here is a big deal and there ain’t but one first, and so congratulations to Kenny Guiton. He did a great job. To have the most yards that we’ve had all season and a bye week and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday practice was a credit to him, the players and the coaching staff.” 

Zion Tupuola-Fetui, Washington 

The Huskies defeated No. 20 USC 52-42 in an offensive showcase on Saturday night, and the game was a significant one for Washington edge rusher Zion Tupuola-Fetui. 

Tupuola-Fetui learned his father passed away in the week leading up to the game against the Trojans. 

A veteran of six seasons, Tupuola-Fetui still played against USC after the difficult news. He tied his season-high four tackles and also made 1.5 sacks including a forced fumble that led to a turnover. 

“This week was really hard but I knew my dad would want me to play,” Tupuola-Fetui said. “He loves this game. He loves UW, bro, and I know I’d just be doing him wrong if I didn’t play. But I’m thankful I was able to play good in his memory. Oh man, that was him playing through me. The beginning of the game, I don’t even know if I wanted to play to be honest. I’m here for my brothers but I was glad I was able to play a good game.”

Army never trailed and led by as much as 20-0 before Air Force kicker Matthew Dapore made a 30-yard field goal late in the second quarter.

Both the Black Knights and Falcons were shut out in the second half, and despite the loss, Air Force outgained Army 259 yards to 253 including 133 yards to 80 in the second half. 

Daily’s 170 yards on the ground are a career-high, and he finished 4-of-9 for 40 passing yards. His longest run of the game went for 62 yards on his first touchdown run of the game.

Air Force quarterback Zac Larrier went 9-of-22 for 93 yards and two interceptions. Army defensive back Bo Nichols-Paul had both picks alongside five tackles.

Oklahoma suffered its first loss of the season in Week 9, falling in a 38-33 showing at Kansas.

The Jayhawks, though, said they “live for days like this” in the win over the Sooners, their first since 1997 and snapping an 18-game losing streak to Oklahoma. 

Here are some of the top statistical performances from Week 7. 

Ollie Gordon II, Oklahoma State 

For a second-straight week, Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II is the leading rusher. 

He put up over 200 rushing yards last week in his first Stat Pack appearance. Gordon hit the number once again this week against Cincinnati. 

Gordon totaled 271 rushing yards against the Bearcats, topping the next closest running back by 24 yards. He averaged 10.8 yards per carry, up from his 9.7 clip posted last week. 

Gordon broke off runs for 42 yards, 39, 22 and 17 yards. His longest run of the day came on his final carry as the Fort Worth, Texas, native dashed 75 yards for his second touchdown of the day. 

Gordon finished with 271 yards across 25 carries for two touchdowns. He also added 21 receiving yards across four catches. 

Frank Gore Jr., Southern Miss 

The son of five-time Pro Bowl running back Frank Gore makes this week’s Stat Pack. 

Frank Gore Jr. rushed for the second-most yards this week in Southern Miss’ 48-38 loss to Appalachian State.

Frank Gore Jr. totaled 247 rushing yards, the second-most of his career after a 329-yard performance against Rice last season. 

His longest run also came on a 75-yard play on his first carry of the second half. Frank Gore Jr. broke off runs of 43, 42 and 10 yards as well. 

Saturday marked Frank Gore Jr.’s 11^th 100-yard game of his career, and his 247 rushing yards are the second-most by a Golden Eagles junior. 

Indiana draws up its biggest pass since 1993 

It had been 30 years since the Hoosiers went 90 yards down the field on one pass. 

That changed on Saturday. Indiana quarterback Brendan Sorsby found receiver Dequece Carter 90 yards later for a big touchdown against No. 10 Penn State. 

Carter found space on the right side of the field. After several steps, Sorsby lunged forward and threw a dot to Carter between a trio of Nittany Lions defensive backs. 

Carter broke one tackle and shook off another on his long run. It gave the Hoosiers the first score of the game, and they hung around as Penn State ultimately took the game 33-24. 

Lay’Ron Lynch-Adams, UMass 

It was a career day for the Minutemen running back Lay’Ron Lynch-Adams.

Lynch-Adams ran for a career-high 234 yards on a career-high 34 carries. He added three rushing touchdowns which were also a career-best in UMass’ 21-14 win over Army. 

To boot, Lynch-Adams’ longest run of the day went for 34 yards, so he added lots of chunk yardage to his performance resulting in a gritty day of play. 

Lynch-Adams averaged 6.9 yards per carry on the day, second-best among ball-carriers who had at least five carries in the game. 

Preston Stone, SMU 

This week’s lone quarterback to make the Stat Pack performed at a dominant rate. 

SMU beat Tulsa 69-10 behind a strong performance from Stone. The quarterback spearheaded the offense and threw for 371 yards, the seventh-most among passers this week. 

All Stone needed was just one half of football before he was lifted for backups Kevin Jennings and Alex Padilla. Stone went 15-for-20, completing 75% of his passes across two quarters.

Stone’s biggest heave came on his first pass of the day. It went 74 yards down the field for a touchdown to receiver Romello Brinson, his lone catch of the game, and Stone’s longest pass of his career. 

Stone had three touchdown passes in the first half, and they all went for big yardage of 74, 62 and 17 yards. His 371 passing yards are a career-high.

According to Ross Dellenger of Yahoo! Sports, AAC presidents voted to accept Army into the conference on Tuesday night.

Army will be a football-only member, according to Pete Thamel of ESPN. 

Army has been independent in football since 2005. The move comes after Southern Methodist University announced in September that it would move to the Atlantic Coast Conference beginning on July 1, 2024. 

According to Brett McMurphy of Action Network, the annual Army-Navy game will remain on the second Saturday of December and will be played as a nonconference game.
